Taking a Personal Sabbatical with Steve Larsen

The idea of stepping away from life and work for months or even a year seems pretty radical and likely impossible. But in his book, The Year Off: The Anti-Budget Solution to Mastering Your Money and Following Your Dreams, author Steve Larsen challenges the idea that we’re stuck or that we lack choices.

Steve believes that most of us keep our jobs because we need the income (of course) but that many of us long for freedom and a change that feels totally out of reach. Believe it or not, taking a year off is much more realistic than you might think. Steve’s book is all about giving hope but also a plan.

In the last few decades, Steve Larsen has built a 100-million-dollar wealth management firm and has become a financial educator dedicated to helping people pursue what is most important to them. Sure, he’s got a Master of Accountancy degree from Gonzaga University, and credentials such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP), but the real credentials come from his experience… he practices what he preaches.

After he created his own year off, he transformed his relationship with work and money, now seeing them as something to give us the life we want, not to consume our lives.

I hope this conversation lights a spark in you. Maybe, just maybe there’s another way to live. If you want to learn more, you can head to Steve Larsen’s website, which is www.yearoff.co.
