There’s real power in tuning into and naming how we feel. Our moods come and go but also form patterns that can become fairly automated and unconscious. In our aim to live more consciously and intentionally, a place to bring some attention and effort is to learning how to navigate and steer our moods more gracefully.
Five years ago, Lauren Martin was sure something was wrong with her. Life was good but every day she wrestled with an emotional roller coaster that often left her irritable, frustrated and disappointed in herself. Lauren set off on a journey to better understand moodiness, the hold it had on her and how she could turn her moods around faster and faster. The result is her new book, The Book of Moods: How I Turned My Worst Emotions Into My Best Life.
In this episode we discuss:
- what are moods and why we get moody
- how we can stop being ruled or hijacked by our moods
- how to be aware of triggers
- how to take better care of ourselves
